Accordion stool

This piece belongs to my Summer course and is a extension of the Wooden Cloth table.

In Sweden we have an expression that says roughly “If there's room in the heart there's room for the arse”. This means that there’s always space for another person. Therefore I created a functional furniture that can be extended when the user needs it. By using the expression and function of the table I could take the project further and create a seat structure to go along with the table, using dove tail rails and a couple of leather straps together with the triangular batons this stool can expand to almost the double of its length to make room for more guest.

The stool is made of Swedish ash and I could use the beautiful features of the wood and make the colour range on the seat. The leather is from scraps and the furniture has a transparent Osmo oil finish.

Check this out: Awesome movie of how it works!

Length 460-820 mm, width 350 mm, height 460 mm
